Patch committed in {{r1229042}}, with following modifications
* minor javadoc changes,
* removed methods {{getLowerBound()}} and {{getUpperBound()}} as they are
equivalent to {{getSupportLowerBound()}} and {{getSupportUpperBound()}}.
