Ahh the docs at
http://commons.apache.org/proper/commons-lang/developerguide.html are out of
date.
Docs say JAVA 1.5 but the the pom.xml says the source and target are 1.6
The docs also say to build using mvn so I am going to assume the pom is
correct, since that fixes these other problems too.
