commons-math for a feature like this. Did you take a look recently at the jar 
size of CM? It is > 1MB so it can not be considered to be a light-weight 
component anymore imho, and thus I think a feature like this would be much more 
suitable for CL as almost everybody has already a dependency to it in his/her 
project anyway.
