We are already working on 2.0. Have a look at
https://svn.apache.org/repos/asf/commons/sandbox/beanutils2/trunk. I'm not sure
whether we'll incorporate commons-collection in version 2.0. I'd like to have
no dependencies if that's possible.
Are you okay with resolving this as won't fix, since we won't include this in
the 1.x line?
