[~aherbert], I tried your suggestions and was able to get the build to pass on
my machine. Thanks for looking into this! It would have taken me quite a long
time to track this down.
[~erans], I used my new permissions to merge the associated PR via Github. The
commit is f5bd492f69cf5e2a2596dbfa359c5fbf5f8b41fc. Does this follow the
appropriate conventions? Do you have any objections?
