Documentation for the TIFF Floating Point format and predictor (predictor 3) is given in http://chriscox.org/TIFFTN3d1.pdf The document mentions interleaved formats, which I assume might be used to store complex numbers or vectors. However, I did not implement them because I was unable to find examples. It also mentions some specialized 16-bit and 24-bit floating-point formats.
