It's still documented on the first page of the Overview docs under
"Platform-centered workflow":

And upgrade instructions for non-CLI projects are documented up to the latest
version:
http://cordova.apache.org/docs/en/latest/guide/platforms/ios/upgrade.html
http://cordova.apache.org/docs/en/latest/guide/platforms/android/upgrade.html
I'm working on upgrading my project to the CLI workflow, but for others who are
unaware, you should probably indicate in the documentation that the
platform-centric workflow is no longer supported (or at least that upgrades
will no longer work).
