Please note that there is no "upgrade" going forward, this is the gist of the
proposal (link above). Our stance has always been that the platform folder is a
build artifact, and any changes there are not guaranteed to be persistent.
That's why any custom platform changes should be in config.xml (when supported)
or in hooks, so they can be re-applied during a `cordova prepare` (implicit
when running `cordova build`)
The implication of the proposal is that the "old" platform is saved on disk,
for you to salvage any changes to re-apply as needed in the worst case, and in
the best case, convert the changes into hooks or config.xml directives (for
example, using the --save flag when adding plugins).
