[~jcesarmobile] The reason we use the compat plugin is so that we don't have to
be dependent on the Google Support Library for permissions. Adding a new
dependency would require us to modify all the plugins, and we would have to do
another major version release. In addition to that, it would actually break a
lot of plugins that do use android-compat because of the different versions,
which is something we should probably avoid.
