I am using Xcode 9 beta 6 and deployed to an iPhone 6 Plus device running iOS
11 beta 10.
No additional plugins, using a new project.

$ cordova create foo
$ cd foo
$ cordova platform add [email protected]
## Modify www/index.html to add "viewport-fit=cover" in the viewport meta tag

Adding this value makes the statusbar overlay the webview, omitting it the
statusbar will not overlay the webview, but the webview will be under it.
