I was told that this problem is not on the UIWebView (the default
webview-engine) but on the WKWebView.
So additionally I did this:

$ cordova plugin add cordova-plugin-wkwebview-engine
{code}
The only difference is, now I can't see the bottom of the WkWebview, when
previously I could, on the UIWebView, by dragging up due to the rubber banding.
I don't see the whitespace under the statusbar.
