Is actually is consistent provided the represented XML element is the same.
This is exactly how one would write the method by hand.
The decision is made based on the value of the Accept header in the HTTP
request. There are well defined rules with respect to making this decision,
see: https://tools.ietf.org/html/rfc7231#section-5.3.2
