However, because I live in Austria and am involved with internationals, I also need to have OpenOffice in German, and be able to switch the user interface language between English and German. So, I installed the German Language Pack 2.2 from http://oootranslation.services.openoffice.org/pub/ OpenOffice.org/extended/2.2.1rc3/. The user interface language is now German. When I now go to Tools->Options->Language Settings->Languages, I can see Default(Standard in German), English US and German (Deutsch Österreich). I select English US, say OK, and I receive a message saying that after I exit Oo and re-start, the language will be changed. So far it works as I expect. However, after I exit and re-start Oo, the user interface remains in German. When I go back to Tools->Options->Language Settings->Languages, I see that the User Interface language is set to Default, which in my case is German. I uninstalled the German Language Pack, and I repeated the procedure Tools- >Options->Language Settings->Languages, and changed teh user interface language from Default to English US. However, after exiting and re-starting Oo, the user interface language remains Default, which now is English US, but English US is not selected. How can I change the user interface language? I am experienced with computers, so if there are any system files which need to be changed, I can do so.
