Paul Rogers commented on DRILL-5053:
------------------------------------

Many tests based on {{org.apache.drill.test.DrillTest}} output large amounts of
narration to the console due to the messages logged before and after each test.
These messages are helpful when debugging a problem, but not for normal runs.

To quiet these messages, change the default logging level used by tests to
{{error}} in {{drill-common/src/main/resources/logback.xml}}.

> Remove excessive output from unit test cases

> Drill's maven build runs a wide variety of unit tests. Unfortunately, many
> tests produce very verbose output, sometimes in lieu of checking results,
> making it hard to determine which test actually fails.
> The ultimate goal is to run the following and have very little output:
> {code}
> mvn clean install -q
> {code}
> Specific issues will appear below as comments.
