Naphlin Peter Akena commented on FINERACT-2305:
-----------------------------------------------

[~adamsaghy] from general accounting principals, only Accrual upfront and
Accrual periodic generate accrual transactions. Cash accounting is backed by
journal entries but the records are added only when value is actual delivered
(interest in the case of this implementation). Think of it as a wallet that
records its transactions in a GL. cc. [~ruhiu]

> Loan interest is being accrued when no accounting is selected or cash
> accounting is selected

> Project: Apache Fineract
> Issue Type: Bug
> Components: Loan
> Affects Versions: 1.11.0
> Environment: Ubuntu 24.04.2 LTS
> Reporter: Naphlin Peter Akena
> Priority: Major
>
> When a loan is created from a loan with accounting type of None or Cash
> selected, the expectation is that there will be no accrual transactions on
> the loan. However; after disbursing a loan with any of the two
> configurations, there is an accrual entry that is made which should not be
> there.
> *To replicate:*
> 1 - Create a product with accounting type of None or Cash
> 2 - Disburse a loan of any amount
> 3 - Check under transactions, there will be an accrual entry.
