Three defects on `/clients/create`, found while walking the wizard. Cancel was used throughout, so nothing was submitted. ## 1. Date of Birth looks filled in with today's date On step 2 (Personal Details), the optional **Date of Birth** field shows `16 Oct 2026` (today) before the user touches it. It isn't actually set. `client-form.component.ts` keeps `dateOfBirth = signal<string | null>(null)` and only adds it to the payload when truthy, so nothing is sent. The value shown comes from `ion-datetime-button`, which renders the current date when its `ion-datetime` has no value. The problem is what the user sees: an officer reviewing the step sees a populated DOB and has no reason to fill it in. Anyone who checks it assumes today's date will be saved. Submitted On and Activation Date legitimately default to today, so the optional field looks the same as the two required ones. **Fix:** render a "Not set" placeholder (and a clear action) while `dateOfBirth()` is null, using `ion-datetime-button`'s `date-target` slot or a plain button that opens the picker. The family-member form uses the same pattern and is worth checking too. ## 2. The page help icon describes the list page The `?` next to the **Create Client** heading has the tooltip/accessible name *"View and manage all registered clients and their contracts."*, which is the Clients list text reused verbatim. It should describe the wizard. ## 3. Inline errors are shown but the inputs aren't marked invalid After focusing and blurring First Name and Last Name, "This field is required" appears under each (as `role="alert"`, so it is announced). But the inputs keep `aria-invalid="false"` and have no `aria-describedby` pointing at the message. A screen-reader user who comes back to the field later hears no error state (WCAG 3.3.1 / 4.1.2). ## Observed, not filed as a bug Cancel discards a partly completed wizard (tested with First Name filled) without asking. Whether to add a "discard changes?" prompt is a product decision, so it's recorded here rather than raised separately. ## Tested against Deployed build of `main` (https://aman-mittal.github.io/fineract-backoffice-ui), backend `sandbox.mifos.community`, Chrome 1440×900, 2026-10-16. -- This is an automated message from the Apache Git Service.
