OK!
I HAVE FINALLY DOWNLOADED A COMPLETE ARCHIVE!
This is what I had to do (and in this order);
# Using the URLs _*that are in the currently configured XML*_, I downloaded
the following files; afe.jar, aglj40.jar, flex-fontkit.jar, rideau.jar,
OSMF.swc (for OSMF 2.0)
# Used a URL mapping to point the configured XML to the downloaded files
# Ran the downloader...
The issue appears to be the downloader's inability to handle multiple
redirects.
Specifically;
# All of the "fake URL" described in the <fontSwf /> node of the config file
cannot be reached on my machine using the valid URLs therein due to redirects.
# The partial URL described in the <OSMF_SWC_2.0 /> node cannot be reached on
my machine using the relative URL therein due to redirects.
So...
There are two potential fixes to this;
# A server-side / server configuration fix to the URLs to generate redirect
headers that the downloader _can_ handle
# A coding fix to the downloader to recover from multiple redirects that are
currently causing the app to freeze
