Aljoscha Krettek commented on FLINK-7764:
-----------------------------------------

This stems from the unfortunate fact that the Kafka 0.10 producer was a hybrid
Function/Operator until I recently introduced the new {{invoke()}} method with
timestamps on {{SinkFunction}}. [~xccui] you might be right that we have to
forward all calls in the created fake {{sink}}. Fortunately, the
{{writeToKafkaWithTimestamps()}} methods are deprecated and you can now also
use the Kafka 0.10 producer as you would use a normal sink.

> FlinkKafkaProducer010 does not accept name, uid, or parallelism

> When I try to use KafkaProducer with timestamps it fails to set name, uid or
> parallelism. It uses default values.
> {code}
> FlinkKafkaProducer010.FlinkKafkaProducer010Configuration<T> producer =
> FlinkKafkaProducer010
>     .writeToKafkaWithTimestamps(stream, topicName, schema, props,
> partitioner);
> producer.setFlushOnCheckpoint(flushOnCheckpoint);
> producer.name("foo")
>         .uid("bar")
>         .setParallelism(5);
> return producer;
> {code}
> As operator name it shows "FlinKafkaProducer 0.10.x” with the typo.
