Yes. I don't know how I missed the fact that it would completely break the
fault-tolerance. :disappointed:
I'm going to keep this open for more opinions, maybe we can include it in
flink-contrib as a way to allow tasks to communicate, or perhaps improve this
model.
On Till's suggestion however, I'm using part of this to write a
light-weight basic parameter server for flink, using akka. I'm almost done with
that and going to open a PR soon. That would still allow tasks to communicate,
however, not in an unlimited way as this.
