Why did you reverted the `Unsafe` relation here?
`decreaseBuffersInBacklogUnsafe(boolean isBuffer)` was "unsafe" because it was
not synchronized and it was thus marked `protected` compared to the "safe"
version that did the synchronization.
To keep the same convention `getBuffersInBacklog(boolean
lastBufferAvailable)` should be renamed to `getBuffersInBacklogUnsafe(boolean
lastBufferAvailable)`
