should first reach out to the dev mailling list (see

* big changes (major new feature; big refactorings, involving multiple
components)
* potentially controversial changes or issues
* changes with very unclear approaches or multiple equal approaches??
Moreover there were some discussions of encouraging Flink users to host and
maintain connectors outside the main project and provide a visibility for those
through https://flink-packages.org/ (I'd say they were inconclusive).
Personally I am in favor of that approach.
So to answer your question I'd say we can not separate the flink-connectors
component in JIRA, as it lists only the connectors community agreed to support.
