There is one more hiccup that needs to be addressed. Flinks
[TraversableSerializerSnapshot|https://github.com/apache/flink/blob/97bfd049951f8d52a2e0aed14265074c4255ead0/flink-scala/src/main/java/org/apache/flink/api/scala/typeutils/TraversableSerializerSnapshot.java]
serialize's the types CanBuildFrom object. The upgrade will need a migration
path to not break savepoint compatibility.
