I can work on this. I propose adding a backwards-compatible `fail(Exception)` hook to `SubagentFuture`. The built-in deferred and async futures would turn a handled await exception into a failed `SubagentResult` and release their pending-call entry; `ToolCallAction` would call the hook only after recording a non-cancellation exception as a model-visible error. Cancellation/interruption would continue to propagate, and caller-driven await exceptions would remain unchanged. I’m preparing parity coverage for both languages, including deferred/async futures and sequential/parallel dispatch. The repository contribution guide asks for committer support before opening a behavior-change PR. Could a project committer confirm support for this issue and approach? OpenAI Codex assisted with the investigation and proposed implementation. -- This is an automated message from the Apache Git Service.
