I'll come clean here. I've just submitted a request like the one I'm submitting
here to the Libre Office project. They basically told me to get lost, so while
wishing them and Ubuntu and who ever else all the best in their future of not
being accepted into corporate environments, I want to see what the OOo reaction
is.

The request is very simple. Make Open Office work, guaranteed, 100% with MS
Office documents. Maybe ODB is a stretch to far but certainly XLS, DOC and PPT
documents should import and export flawlessly. I have just overseen a roll out
of Linux and OOo onto desktops here. The decision has be made to roll back and
all because OOo is not compatible with MS Office. We tried Libre Office having
read in the press that they claim it to be much better but it was just the
same.

Please look back at my record. I have been a long time user of OOo and a huge
advocate. Over the years I have submitted a number of MS Office documents,
including huge 3GPP specs.. Dramatic improvement was made but slowly the
improvements began to trail off until now I see no compatibility improvements
between releases. (I'm sure some are being made.)

Moreover, to reproduce this issue does not appear to be very difficult. Just
create any old MS Office document that is anything more than plain text.
Especially ones with anchored images and frames. And then import them to OOo,
make a few changes, like maybe change an image anchor, save it, re-open in MS
Office, re do the layout as it'll probably be broken! and repeat...

I'm asking permission of the management here to be allowed to submit one of the
worst offending documents as a bug report attachment.
