I tried a few sample URLs from the above post in Chrome but they were
interpreted as local file.
e.g. //websbestgifs.net/kittyonadolphin.gif became
file:///ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.4.2/jquery.js and couldn't be
shown.
