Ted you're just repeating the same thing over and over again and not actually
reading what's being said in here.
You are creating a file on your local hard drive. Then using Firefox to open
that file. That file never transitions over the wire so it's protocol is FILE.
That means when you then use the protocol relative url firefox is prepending
file: in front of the url before trying to open it up.
