It's difficult to say. Obviously, the region server is much more i/o bound than
the client so saving copies and allocation could be less interesting. I've
fixed these one because they were on the top list when I profiled the objects
creation. I think it's useful at then end. As well, with SSD & so on we might
expect the object creation to be more & more important, so starting to use
ByteBuffer likely a step in the right direction...
