Attached v9 of patch. 

* Rebased it to trunk. Fixed a test to work as per changed method calls. 
compile target should work properly now
* Fixed formatting issues as suggested by Ted (Thanks for the review).
* Ran findbugs locally to make sure they don't hit the 100 char limit.
* Closed the HTable instance properly in tests.
