Unfortunately, the only extant issues I know about are listed in subtasks. If
you have an account on builds.apache, I'd love help setting up additional jobs
to cover java 8. Otherwise, I could use help identifying gaps.
I'd say the best way to start is to attempt to run through our full build/test
suite with java 8 and see if anything falls over (e.g. HBASE-13569). Once those
are done, try to run any of the integration tests, even just on a single node.
