Addendum:
* forces compile.source to 1.7
* replaces example uses of TimeStampingFileContext with
org.apache.hadoop.metrics.file.FileContext (this is just an example in the
.properties file, the class is not used by default)
Going to commit soon, I don't think there's anything controversial here.
