I'd removed a wait on sequenceid in append so TestAtomicOperation was failing.
The FindBugs complaints are fixed in this patch... As said before, the
checkstyle is a complaint about the length of an unrelated method... not going
to fix (can't really w/o radical change .... which is done in master version of
this patch).
