So instead of SegmentScanner, a KVScanner is being used. SegmentScanner IS A
KVScanner?

Nits: Not from ur patch but I feel we can clean up
bq.getListOfScanners
Call it getScanners() No need to say data structure name in method name
bq.LinkedList<KeyValueScanner> list = new LinkedList<KeyValueScanner>();
Make the type as List and new ArrayList? Dont think we need a LinkedList
anyway.
