It's something between 2.19.1 and 2.20 that changed that.
Scanning the release notes, 2.20 gives us color messages and dumping errors to
a dumpfile instead of console, both of which seem pretty nice, and a lot of
improvements about clean up/shutdown/orphaned forks, which might be relevant.
The website docs claim that package wildcards should still work[1], we probably
should file a SUREFIRE jira for them.
