When HDFS not able to find enough space in the specified volume, yes it will
write to other volumes. So if less SSD space, will write to Disk. Ya we can
have a CF level setting for this.. THat is the way we have the setting for
specifying the storage policy as well. (When this is set to say ALL_SSD, the
entire HFiles from that CF will be in SSDs and I know this is been used)..
For write heavy table:cf, this would help. Even first few level of
compaction results can be in SSD (if that helps).. Then we need a size limit
such that files below which only will go to SSD. Ya nice to start with
flushes and see how/whether it helps.
