Thanks Stack for your suggestions. Will think a bit.
bq. How many regions are we talking of merging/deleting at any one time? I
think above should work for a big table as long was we did stuff in parallel;
closes and file moving. To be confirmed.
I have tested for one region at a time but if i change the code for multiple
regions then it will work in parallel as each RS will do process as long as
regions-to-be-deleted are part of online regions list.
