I think what we want in 2.3.0 is MasterRegistry, not hedge read rpc right? So my goal is to make sure MasterRegistry available first and then we start the think of the hedge read feature. If you guys think we must have hedge read feature in the rpc framework in 2.3.0, then I will veto on releasing 2,3.0 with the current code base. Let's at least move the read replicas logic down to the rpc framework layer if we really want to do this(although I do not think this is necessary in HBase).
