I'd vote for removing them. If we keep these we have failed with wire
compatibility and all the protofuf stuff was for nothing.
Put/Delete is still used as writable at least in these cases:
* IdentityTableReduce.java
* MultiPut.java
* HRegionServer.checkAndMutate
