[~prasanth_j] I agree about the removal in 4.0; but if I looked at the right 
history - serde2.JsonSerDe was first introduced during streaming efforts - and 
not released so far (and as of now it's only on master); but the addition of it 
would be a "forward compatible" change - as long also we keep the hcat version.
Right now I the "changed" hcat serde to work the same as before.
I think it would be great to get this udf into to the 3.x line...the earlier 
concern was that this udf duplicates functionality and codes :)
...and now that I've cleaned it all up...it tends to look like an incompatible 
change :)

Would it be ok to submit all the neccessary things which are need to make udf 
work on the branch-3 line - but leave all the jsonserdes alone there?
