Hi [~meripones] Thanks for your suggestion. We had proposed in this release
that we are going with Hive (3.2.0) with Hadoop(3.3.4) and Tez(0.10.2). I think
that if we try to change Hive to 3.x protobuf, we need to make a release as
well in Tez consuming this new 3.x protobuf since Tez 0.10.2 is also using
2.5.0 to build. My hunch is that even if we upgrade Hive, things will fail
while integrating with Tez and Hadoop. Hadoop has migrated to 3.7.1 protobuf
which is good. But Tez 0.10.2 still uses 2.5.0 to build. Since Tez builds on
2.5.0 don't you think it will cause issues when we upgrade Hive to 3.x version
protobuf? Welcome any suggestions on this.
