[~okumin] , No, I wouldn't mind. It's an honor for me to help bring this long
story to a close, and I think I can make time for the remaining work. (It won't
take as long as HIVE-27473.) I will proceed with completing HIVE-12679 based on
your branch and open a new PR once I have finished it.
