Closing this in favour of a redo that follows the maintainer's review and schema sync design: no polling, notify plus ACK over the existing PD watch, and the schema and its revision committed in one PD write. The scope is also smaller than the plan in this thread. The work continues as a stack of PRs in hugegraph/hugegraph, starting at https://github.com/hugegraph/hugegraph/pull/269. Once the stack has been reviewed there, it comes back to apache/hugegraph as one PR that supersedes this one and links back here.
