Prepare the AI, LLM and Python client packages for 1.8.0. Python source distributions now include the workspace build metadata, and CI builds the release packages from a Git source archive. ML remains at 1.7.0 and excluded from the Apache source archive; MCP and Vermeer keep their independent versions. Disable release-script command tracing before credentials are assigned, cancel superseded PR runs, correct uv setup/cache inputs, and run Ruff once on supported Python 3.11. The existing Server 1.7 CI baseline is retained because the Server 1.8 image is not published yet. Validation: native wheel/sdist builds and Git archive rebuilds passed, including rebuilding the root wheel from its sdist; client unit/contract tests and Ruff passed. The release script was exercised with local command substitutes to verify credentials are absent from trace output, without signing or uploading. Local Server 1.8 compatibility testing and PR CI are in progress. Known boundary: `uv sync` inside the Apache archive still fails because the existing ML source override references the intentionally excluded ML directory. Package builds pass.
