## Before ➡️ After **Before:** Routine PD discovery uses the cluster-summary endpoint, which can scan every partition. **After:** Read members, leader, versions and cluster state from the existing lightweight members endpoint. Preserve discovery failures without falling back to the heavy scan. Missing aggregate fields stay unavailable, not zero; Store counts and capacity still come from the stores endpoint. ## Why Keep node discovery proportional to discovery needs instead of coupling page refreshes to graph-partition summaries. ## Validation boundary The source author reports local HTTP fixtures and mounted UI checks, including no heavy-endpoint request on success or failure. Live distributed-cluster behavior, measured production impact and complete current-head CI remain unverified. This branch includes the shared canvas foundation from [🔗 apache/hugegraph-toolchain#840](https://github.com/apache/hugegraph-toolchain/pull/840), preserving its original history rather than duplicating the fix.
