A failed Vermeer load looked like a passive status tag, and native RPC
failures could expose only `Unknown desc =` without useful next steps.
Successful computations whose values are explicitly unavailable also looked
like ordinary empty results.

The failed-load control now visibly offers **View reason** with an
accessible name and its existing task navigation. For failed native Vermeer
tasks with an empty `Unknown` description, the result panel offers bounded
Worker/Store, connection/authentication and metadata-cluster checks, while
preserving the exact original error for copying. Successful Vermeer compute
tasks with an explicit null result retain their success state and explain that
values may have been cleared upstream, with a manual link back to graph
algorithms. Valid empty arrays and other task types retain their existing
meaning. Task status, engine execution and result retention follow the existing
contracts.

   Validation:
   - 82 targeted tests, including error-copy fidelity, classification
boundaries, task navigation, result availability and the existing
copy-punctuation contract.
   - Frontend ESLint, TypeScript, i18n checks and production build pass.
   - Seven Chromium checks against the production candidate on port 3100 and
baseline master on 3096. Historical task details use the real existing local
backend; the failed-status control uses only a GET metadata-status replay. No
load, computation or backend mutation is triggered by these UI checks.

Before/after screenshots cover the opaque error, the explicit
success-without-values state and the failed-status action. The paired captures
are in issue 39 of the [Hubble issue
record](https://chatgpt.com/space/page_62cf6a23a284819196000f124fdd6990),
available to authorized readers. Screenshots, browser receipts and logs stay
outside Git under the task owner's explicit instruction. Native public GitHub
image upload is unavailable in this connection; these Page attachments are
private and are not anonymous GitHub image URLs.
