@mblesak The sinktaskContext is intialized on initialisation of WorkerSinkTask itself which you can look here: https://github.com/apache/kafka/blob/a27d6e32b0265dbb364c3c4533b8261d62ee837a/connect/runtime/src/main/java/org/apache/kafka/connect/runtime/WorkerSinkTask.java#L162 A sinkTask initialise, start, stop, close and other functions and in short lifecycle starts only after this, so it will never happen that sinkTaskContext is null.
