@aihuaxu Hi, I saw that you are pushing to finalize the Variant spec on `apache/parquet-format`, which is great! But in order for Iceberg to be considered a fully compliant implementation of that spec, don't you agree that it should fix this issue? Context: We have worked on adding read support for the VariantEncoding (and VariantShredding) in DuckDB (which will start with 1.4.0). Because of this bug, spec compliant readers can't read Variants produced by Iceberg, because they can't detect that they are Variants. -- This is an automated message from the Apache Git Service.
