I think the main thing as discussed in the sync is we will want to revert
this for 1.11 since it should only be neccessary when we do a spark 4.2 (or any
other integration) that uses the upgraded dependency; so it's preferrable to
defer this until we really need this. Don't get me wrong, it's inevitable to
have to address this issue, just think we should minimize the pain when folks
when to upgrade to 1.11 since it's not really neccessary right now (as far as I
can tell).
Long term we should work with the RoaringBitmap folks to update to maven
central as @kevinjqliu said or there's some alternatives like shading (which
I'd really strongly prefer to avoid shading more stuff into iceberg core).
