Review Comment:
   Fixed.
   
   I agree that we should skip a field if it is not present, just like unknown 
IDs are skipped in read schema generation.
   
   Callers may derive field IDs from filters that contain metadata fields or 
other ID references. That is fine because filters can still run without stats. 
The result will be unknown and no filtering will occur. To be consistent, 
unknown IDs should be skipped here as well.
