FWIW, the complexity here comes because of two reasons: - Clarifications come where the expression for the crate's distributed source code is not representative. - `cargo-deny` failing open rather than closed, so we have to wrap it with extra checks. I have opened issues for the former (here's the one for zstd-sys: https://github.com/gyscos/zstd-rs/issues/392). We could also take a look at the latter - that's ultimately where the scripts complexity comes from.
