@rdblue: The specific examples above are for HiveConf configuration values and they have nothing to do with `hadoop` from the user point of view. Also there are plenty of other configuration values which might be good to set for a catalogs, so I think it would be good to find a general solution. Also we try to keep the same syntax for spark/hive/impala so the users could move seamlessly between the systems. I think the best solution would be to have a general `override.*` prefix for all of the catalog configurations. What do you think?
